Lions Offensive Line...
This was a game that featured it all. On offense, that ALL was courtesy of a Lion Offensive line that refused to stop. Vernon Lee, Brandt Waples, Ed Kinsler, Joe Remy, Shawn Brown, Mike Chambers and Mike O'Donnell's efforts tonight will never hit the stat sheet. Every time the Lions needed three yards the O-Line ensured four. Every pass attempt was greeted with the best protection a Penncrest team has ever mustered. Our O-Line led Jackson and Spahr to 100 yard performances on 14 carries each.
Spahr's 56 yard run put the Lion's on top 7-0 in the second quarter. Chris Wagner's 33 yard reception for a touchdown extended the Lions lead to 14. Spahr had all night to wait for the open receivers. Dan Desiderio continues to be a kicking machine. His 34 yard field goal put the Lions up 17-0 to end the half. However, his greatest contributions came in the third quarter, putting both kicks into the end zone for touchbacks.
Anderson scored on a 2 yard run after Ridley had take the opening drive of the second half for their first score. Chris Wagner ran the perfect route as Spahr found him alone in the end zone from 10 yards out to close the lions scoring.
Defensively McFadden's warriors were all over the field. Mike O'Donnell stayed stride-for-stride with Ridley's Tunnell and came away with his first interception. Shawn Brown may have had the most important interception of the season setting up our final score. Mike McFadden and Terrence Jackson were all over the field. Jackson finished the game with a two sack performance, and several tackles for a loss.
