Shootout!

If you paid the $4 gate fee, you got more then your moneys worth. Springfield jumped all over Penncrest in the first quarter, posting a quick 14-0 lead. Penncrest returned the favor scoring 28 unanswered before the half. Terrance Jackson, Aaron Barnes, Brian Magness (15 yard reception), and Andy Spahr (95 yard run) scored.

The second half followed the start of the game. Springfield scored two quick touchdowns tying the game at 28. Aaron Barnes took over the ground game for the Lions and Terrance Jackson scored the winning touchdown with just over 2 minutes remaining.

Our ground game was led by a group of relentless linemen, bent on blocking guys off the field. Mike Chambers pancaked a linebacker, while Chris Reiter steamrolled his man on several occasions. Not to be left out Shawn Brown, Gavin Schwartz and Steve Mebert got the job done all night.

Ryan Phillips and Mike McFadden each intercepted a pass on the defensive side of the ball.

You have to take your hat off to both teams. What a game!
