Theres no quit at Penncrest
Never doubt how hard this team is willing to work; Coach had them ready. Penncrest fought the Pioneers all night long. Damian Ferrainola's half back pass to Dan Hoiser covered 64 yards for the Lions first score. The Lions defense played big all night forcing turn overs and holding Conestoga scoreless in the second half. Michael Dougherty anchored the defensive line and may have played one of his best games as a Penncrest Lion.
Dean Jones and Timothy McCabe came up big on several plays keeping drives alive.
Andy Spahr filled in for Ryan Phillips at quarterback for the game's final drive. Penncrest scored with 1:41 remaining on a 3 yard pass from Spahr to Hoiser. The ensuing onside kick was recovered by Penncrest - unfortunately a Lion player had touched the ball before it had gone ten yards.
"They played valiantly tonight," said Milano "We challenged them all week and they responded like champions even in defeat."
