Varsity: 2011 Results - Week 6
Penncrest vs Upper Darby
The game began with quarterback Fisher handing off to halfback Johnson who ran 51 yards up the middle for a touchdown. Fisher passed to Zubieta for a 2 point conversion. Upper Darby came back and drove the length of the field for a touchdown and converted the two point conversion. Upon getting the ball back Fisher threw a screen pass to wide receiver McCafferty who took the ball sixty-three yards for a touchdown. Fisher ran to the right and into the end zone for the two point conversion.
The third period was scoreless until Upper Darby drove down the field and after a 40+ yard run got the ball to the two and rushed in for the touchdown. The two point conversion was good and the score was knotted at 16. After the kickoff Fisher handed off to halfback Zubieta who being led by Fisher around the left end went down the sideline for a 63 yard touchdown. The extra point pass thrown by Fisher was just out of the reach of McCafferty.
Upper Darby got the ball back and drove to the nine yard line with 2 minutes remaining. The Penncrest defense stiffened and a pass on 4th and goal from the nine was incomplete. Fisher did a couple of kneel downs and the game ended with Penncrest winning 22 -16. The Lions are now 3-3 with a forfeit by Harriton this week the final game is at Radnor on November 10th.
